I am writing regarding Aurora Center Center for Healing, owned by Treanor Consulting, LLC. I recently learned that Treanor Consulting, LLC is only the first in a series of shell companies that lead back to Mr. Litchfield. When I worked there, I received calls from Bob, who I now believe to be Mr. Litchfield.
Although the program was rewritten, it shares a lot of similarities to a WWASP program. It has consequences, stripping of phases, and excessive amounts of time spent in isolation areas for misbehavior. Some of the students have been in the program for over a year at this point and have made little to no progress.
I was separated from my employment because I began to advocate for the kids there. I was filing state complaints left and right. Mckaye Treanor came out and was furious that I was not adhering to her timelines in isolation. I would only allow kids in there long enough to re-orient, not 3-5 days.
I know your resources are limited, but this may be a facility to dive into as it is bad news. Mr. Litchfield previously had a hand in Never Give Up as well as SkyView Academy in Nevada.
I’ve seen kids injured because of improper holds and excessive use of force. I had to take one such student to the ER because of a sprained shoulder. The boys had been without hot water for 3 weeks in half their dorm when I left. There is also a high likelihood that the fire system doesn’t even function correctly. We have been instructed to override the warning messages every 24 hours.
Nothing in the brochure or www.auroracfh.com is accurate. The world-class education is a home school program that most kids don’t even participate in. There is no tutoring beyond what I was personally doing.
The experiences and available amenities are also fictitious. The kids are lucky to do litter pickup as an activity. They on rare occasions get off campus, but nothing to the extent their brochure shows.
Calls are restricted wildly. They have to make appointments and make calls with staff just like in the documentary. I got in trouble for allowing kids to call their approved people unsupervised, or more often than was supposed to.
They also have a family services department that works very similar to the documentary. They call and list all the bad things the kids are doing. For the most part, its to ensure the families or state believes they require further treatment.
I do request anonymity because just like Ivy Ridge, this facility was placed in a very small community. It is also likely the owners would attempt to litigate against me for whistleblowing should they be able to prove that I made this report. They will stop at nothing to ensure the kids are profitable to them and they can lure more kids in.
I think that if you can prove the connection, it would go a long way towards proving Mr. Litchfield is still very active in the industry, and continues to use the same shell company tactic and false marketing material.
The only thing that has changed is now they target Medicaid insurance and wards of the state rather than private pay kids. They know that Medicaid kids and wards experience difficulty in their complaints, or getting them believed.
I regret that I didn’t put this together faster. What I can say is championed the kids daily, often overriding their money-making scheme.
