When I was twelve I started to have behavioral issues but I don’t believe that I deserved this. I fought with my mom on occasion and I drank alcohol 1X and had started smoking weed. My brother was already in and out of DT and had a couple assult charges on his record the state told my mom to get him in a program and for some reason she put us in the same category and sent us both. Do get me wrong I know I wasn’t perfect but I had not ever even been arrested or anything. I was shocked when two men came in my room and kidnapped me. That’s the term the program used when the would catch you by suprise in the middle of the night. I was at dundee ranch academy when the riots happened. I was 13 years old and when I first got there there were 15 other girls in in my room and the rooms were tiny with tiny triple bunks. I couldn’t speak the language and the staff seem to think it was funny. I was slapped around for not knowing things and made fun of by girls that were higher up in the program.the jamaicain me were discusting in every was imaginable. The was also worksheets where if you didn’t do everything perfect you would have to write and write for says without stoping if you stopped your hand would be smacked and if you continue to stop then you’d be sent to OP where it was evin harder being restrained or tide up for the stupidest reasons like eating a mango or looking at the boys. There was poop in the showers almost ever time we went to them and they wouldn’t even give us something to clean it up with. The beautiful pool from the brochure was discusting as well no way would anyone ever swim in it. You could hear the screams of other kids being abused all the time. It was a nightmare andifyou tried to tell your parents you would be back in trouble . The day of the riot the costra rican government came and told us wehadthe right to leave and the kids already in brainwashed by stockhome syndrome tried to fight the kids that just wanted to leave well I found a phone and called my mom and she got me and my brother home the program bankrupt my mom and dad and did nothing to pay back for the months that we did not spend there. After everything I went through I was a mess within sixmonthes I was addicted to heroin. Something I never thought I would do was the only thing to stop the pain of that nightmare a place that gave parents false hope of helping there children, taking there money and beating there kids.
