I am a survivor myself I was in a program for 3 years. I was adopted by what I thought was a great family. I was struggling mentally and taking pills to numb my pain from previous placement homes I was in. One day at school counselor pulled me in her office mentioned therapy. One morning got up they told me we are going to place school had told me about little did I know I’d be there for 3 years! I was in this room looked like board room two big guys came in soon as my parents left. I was stripped down grabbed, completely humiliated, & confused. At first tried to run or go against the program. After 6 months of being locked in a room with only concrete walls and rubber flip-flops I gave in. They broke my spirt I was so numb I even made it to one of the highest level. I was sure my parents would come get me then. But no one did and I was finally released. My life was down hill after I became such a people pleaser put myself in horrible situations. But for 3 years, that’s all I did was try to kiss ass to staff. I had no idea how I was going to provide for myself so latched to the first guy who showed me attention was abused. I just wanted to say it’s been a long road but at age of 30 I was able to turn my life around get help I needed. Now I’m married working through everything that unfolded. If anything said spoke to you please ask for help there are still good people out there. We are more than what people have told us know your worth take back your life and story!!!
