This is just one testimony of mine about Midwest Academy boarding school. Although it does not reveal all the details of all wrongs done to me, it highlights the major trauma that happened.
I fought harder against the program than anyone I knew there. For the first 2 months I rebelled completely. Most fight a little on the first day, and then entirely conform. Some students completely ate up the lies of staff members. They were brainwashed into thinking the program helped them and that abusing lower level students was acceptable.
I never once bowed mentally to their evil structure. By the time I started following basic rules, it was too late for me. The staff had already labeled me a rebel and a threat. They barred me from getting to the higher ranks of the program. I was doomed to lower levels until the very end of my stay. After I had already turned 18, in a feeble attempt to change my mind, they gave me upper level status. I was quickly dropped after 6 days because I refused to abuse other students. My last stop was a homeless shelter. It was recommended by the staff to send young adults from the program there.
I made the mistake of trusting and caring for some of the other students. I experienced trauma bonding from the isolation rooms as the upper levels willingly guarded me. It is sickening beyond words. The experience gave me PTSD and interfered with my ability to live my life for a long time. Those students who guarded me in isolation let me down majorly. They could have done something to stop it. They didn’t. They sat idly by so they could go home and act a fool like they did before. Screw them for taking advantage of me when I was helpless and cornered.
They told me many lies in isolation. Lies that hurt to this day. The staff beat me down emotionally into submission while the upper levels “built me back up”. They got way too personal for complete strangers from across the country. They told me how much they loved me, how they would always be there for me, how we were friends, how great I was, etc. They thought it was a game. Not for me.
The isolation process, along with compulsory mentoring from the upper levels, violated my sense of self and self-dependence. I was forced to rely on strangers to emotionally and psychologically sustain me. They did this to torture and weaken a person so they will comply. This did untold damage to me. I was so confused and gaslighted that I thought I was in love with one the upper levels! The embarrassment and shame belongs to those upper levels. They drank the kool-aid eagerly. They loved abusing lower levels with the power given to them by the staff. It made them feel superior and powerful. It was funny then. Not so much now. The “school” got shut down by the FBI and Ben Trane is a prisoner. The US government in all its corruption still shut this abusive “school” down. They were wrong all along. I was right.
To me it is still strange that nearly full grown women could not remember they had inalienable rights and privileges under our Constitution and Federal and State laws walking into the doors of Midwest Academy. They just believed these grown abusive strangers that they were slaves and should love it. They forgot their education in school, from parents, studies of freedom. They believed the program philosophy almost instantaneously after arriving.
