After parents signed me up for not wanting to go to Public school, I was Taken from my house in the middle of the night with no choices. Placed in an isolation box for the night and had to sleep on the ground. I think it was cement. Woke up to hear students and staff judging and mocking me in the room. The school forced extreme rules and didn’t let me communicate with my parents for weeks and once I could it was only through the form of letters once per week. I wasn’t fed enough food and was licking the plates because I was so hungry. You couldn’t talk, look out windows, look at opposite sex. I had to literally manipulate myself out of the situation by researching mental illnesses in my online classes so I could fake schizophrenia just to have a reason to escape. After a few months of torment and feeling like a prisoner as a young growing child that needs his parents I was finally able to leave and my parents pulled me out after I convinced a doctor that I was unwell and that place was making my problems happen and making them worse. I’ve buried a lot of this information inside for years and tried to forget about it but it definitely has scarred me throughout my life and wouldn’t wish this treatment or prisoner life on anyone let alone a child.
